Spring gardening perk
Wood chips pile [ [link removed] ]
[ [link removed] ]Don't forget that free wood chips are available from the Village?s Public Works department [ [link removed] ], seven days a week. This coarsely cut wood comes from our brush pick-up program and tree removal throughout the year.
The wood chips are not the fine, uniformly-sized treated bags of mulch you can purchase at a home improvement store. However, this free resource can used in your yard to help keep weeds at bay and allow less water evaporation around newly planted trees and other vegetation.

Fire hydrant testing

If you live on the west side of the river, watch for hydrant flushing signs in your neighborhood.
A village contractor is doing water flow testing and maintenance on fire hydrants until the end of next week.?
This work is different from the water main flushing that will be completed by our Public Works staff during the month of May.
