North Carolina is exactly why we need Dem AGs in swing states.
Friend,
Republican officials have made it clear that they will do anything to move the needle in their favor. We’re seeing it right now in North Carolina, where the Republican-led legislature is trying to pass a hyper-partisan Congressional map into effect for the 2022 election cycle.
A North Carolina court just struck down the proposed Congressional map from the legislature, claiming it is too biased to be used in November. North Carolina Dem AG Josh Stein has been advocating for a fairer map from the very beginning of this process, even filing a brief speaking out against this sort of blatant political power grab.
Winning races in states like North Carolina can have massive political implications. Joe Biden lost the state by less than 2% of the vote in 2020, while Dem AG Josh Stein won by barely .02%. Having a fair congressional map that accurately represents its community will make all the difference in passing critical legislation. That’s why we need Dem AGs in office, fighting to protect the system.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in 2022, we need your support – will you chip in today?
