We are so excited about John Nichol’s opinion piece in yesterday’s Cap Times about Steven! 

[His] long view led Olikara to speak frequently about the Russia-Ukraine crisis last year, when few of the other candidates were paying attention. Now, as the invasion has moved the issue to the front burner, he speaks with the clarity of someone with a history of being highly informed and highly engaged.

The article demonstrates Steven’s deep knowledge of foreign policy and underscores the need for more people to meet him and hear his vision to strengthen democracy at home and abroad. Please contribute to our campaign to help us introduce more voters to Steven and amplify our plan to change the business model of politics.

The piece correctly points out the need for candidates to put additional focus on foreign policy given the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine caused by Putin’s invasion of the country. Nichols highlights Steven’s accomplishments in this area and ends with this:

Finally, I believe that spending endlessly on the last couple decades of wars, rife with mission creep, also helped to present this opportunity to Putin. We must be much smarter, more focused, and more strategic with our foreign engagements in the future.

Part of why I call for changing the business model of politics, starting with money in politics, is because of the influence of our military-industrial complex in funding politicians and getting us into misguided wars.
