My parents always told me that education was the one thing no one can ever take from you ... and they were right, friend. Today, I wanted to touch base about why I believe education is so important – and a little bit about what I've learned about education throughout my life.

When he was just 16, my father got a Regents Scholarship to attend Columbia University. As a child displaced by the Holocaust, he fought hard to get where he was, and he used education as his key to a better life. And while my father was the "literature and history" guy in my house, my mother was all about the science and math side of things. (She finished her undergraduate degree when I was a baby and my dad was serving in Vietnam! While I completed my undergraduate degree, she got her master's degree!) They encouraged me to pursue my education, pushing me to earn an ROTC scholarship to study engineering at Stanford University.

After working as an Air Force engineer and then helping to grow a multinational company based right here in Chester County, I joined Teach For America to teach high school chemistry in North Philly. My TFA experience inspired me to become the Executive Director of Springboard Collaborative, a nonprofit that fosters connections between families, students, and educators to boost literacy and to combat learning loss.

Education opens doors and breaks down barriers, and in my time in Congress, I've continued advocating for quality education for all. I’ve led efforts to invest in public schools, support teachers, get teachers vaccinated, help to keep classrooms open for in-person learning, and implement plans to improve the literacy of our kids.

But while I'm advocating for greater access to education and a science-based approach to lawmaking, today’s GOP is fear-mongering, spreading conspiracy theories, fighting against public schooling, and turning school board meetings into war zones.

That's why I'm asking for your support today, friend. We need grassroots supporters like you to help us keep up our momentum and fight back against the GOP's destructive agenda. But with the GOP gerrymandering and self-funding their way to win in 2022, I need all the help I can get to spread our message of truth over lies.

Please, friend, will you step up today? I'm counting on 113 grassroots supporters to pitch in $5 or $25 today to ensure we have the resources we need to hit our target of fundraising $5,000 dollars. Every cent will be spent getting out the vote and protecting our progress for years to come:

Thank you. There is work to be done for our kids and to improve education in America,

Chrissy
