Tuesday, March 15th, was Equal Pay Day – the day that marks how far into the new year the average woman has to work to match what the average man made the year before.

Jared believes in equal pay for equal work, no matter if you are a man or a woman. That’s why last year he was proud to support the Paycheck Fairness Act – a bill that, if enacted, would help reduce the disparity in pay between men and women across America.

We know that pay equality is an issue that impacts Mainers. In fact, women in Maine and across the country make on average $0.83 for every $1 made by a man. And given current trends, women will have to wait until 2060 to achieve wage parity.
