Ruth’s List Florida is excited to announce our latest endorsement, Katie Abbott for Village of Pinecrest Council Member, At-Large Seat.

Katie is the Vice Mayor of Pinecrest Village, and a Ruth’s List alumni, having received our support in her previous race for the council seat 2018. With Katie’s re-election, Pinecrest will maintain a female-majority council.

Katie grew up in Pinecrest and is an alumna of Miami-Dade public schools. In addition to serving on the council, she is a tireless advocate for the community. Katie holds board positions on Friends of Pinecrest Gardens and the Pinecrest City Music Project, is the co-coordinator of Pinecrest's Youth Advisory Council, and the co-coordinator for her neighborhood's Crime Watch group. In 2021 and again this year, she was appointed to the National League of Cities’ Federal Council on Youth, Education, and Families Committee as well as the Federal Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Committee.
