| John, People often ask me the question of why? Why I’m running for U.S. Senate? Why I care so much about America? Why would I do anything to defend freedom and protect liberty? I’ll tell you why, John – I know exactly what it’s like when communism comes knocking on your door. I escaped communist Cuba with my family in 1960. In 1940 my mother and her parents escaped the Holocaust. I came to America as a child, filled with hope and many blessings, and I was able to pursue the American dream because of the opportunity and freedom we are promised in this country. And now that freedom is being threatened by the radical Democrats, it is my absolute duty to protect that very same freedom I was granted many years ago. There are plenty of people like that in the Senate already. What you do need is someone that is going to fight for neighbors, teachers, police officers, firefighters, farmers, parents; the very people that make our nation so great. I have always felt a calling to give back and serve my country. If you agree that America needs a fighter, someone who’s not afraid to stand up to the radical ideals that are plaguing this country, then I need you to join my team. Every single dollar my campaign raises is a dollar put towards a better future for this country. So, when people ask me why I’m running for Senate, I will tell them: it’s because I have a responsibility to this country —a country that granted me the opportunity to have everything I could ever dream of— and it is my greatest honor, and responsibility to ensure everyone has that same opportunity here in America. I’m running because the current 'leaders' have sold out freedom for their own political gains.
