When I got into this race, we began a conversation many of my opponents didn't want to have about decriminalizing border-crossings. I forced the conversation because children were being torn from their parents and thrown into cages and we need to make sure it can never happen again.

We led a discussion about police reform -- not because it was poll-tested as a top issue voters in Iowa were concerned about, but because police violence has inflicted too much terror upon communities of color.

Despite it never being asked about in a debate - or getting much media attention - I have continuously talked about our nation's housing crisis, because we have a generation of everyday Americans who can't afford to buy a home, can't afford their rent, and homelessness is rising.

Every day going forward I'm going to continue talking about these important issues. I'm going to be pushing my opponents to address them. I'm going to fight like hell to make sure the media gives them the attention they deserve.

One's ability to pay for a 30-second clip of ad space in some of the most saturated media markets in the country shouldn't decide who stays in this race.

I'm in it for the long haul. I will continue to lift up the most marginalized voices in our society and we're going to keep doing things differently. Let's be loud.

This race isn't about the polls, it isn't about the pundits, and it isn't about me -- it's about putting People First.
