I’m reaching out because today is one of those days where I need to ask for your support.

You may have noticed that you haven’t gotten a lot of fundraising e-mails from me lately. Given all that’s happening, the last month or so has been incredibly busy. I believed it was important to focus my time and attention on the legislative work at hand and supporting the Ukrainian people. When I have asked for money, it’s been for Ukraine. For instance, you helped me raise over $100,000 for Save the Children’s Ukraine fund.

And with confirmation hearings for Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson starting on Monday, things are not slowing down anytime soon. It is my duty to give these serious issues my full attention. This is the kind of work you expect me to do, and nothing could be more important.

But it means I’ve neglected our campaign’s modest fundraising goals a bit, and those are important too — especially with an official FEC deadline at the end of this month.

The truth is we’re significantly behind on our goals this quarter. These goals are how we help our Democratic candidates hold and expand the Senate this November and organize around the issues that matter most. That’s why I need to ask:

If you can afford it, please consider donating $5 or any amount you can to help us get our fundraising back on track before the FEC deadline. I try to ask only when it is important, and with where we’re at on our goal today, your support couldn’t be more important.
