I’ll get straight to the point: Republicans are throwing every crazy idea they can think of at the wall right now, hoping something — anything — will stick.

But here’s the deal, friends: There’s a method to their madness.

Devoid of any original ideas, Republicans are following the playbook introduced by Richard Nixon, built upon by Karl Rove, and perfected by Donald Trump.

It’s the “divide and conquer” strategy. Divide the American people against each other. Pit neighbor against neighbor, community against community. Use trigger words and language that play to our fears rather than our hopes.

Right-wing Senators like Ron Johnson and Rick Scott or far-right House members like Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, or Madison Cawthorne are nothing more than “hit-and-run” politicians.

They recklessly throw out ideas to tax seniors, pull the plug on accessible and affordable health care, deny reproductive health choice, or go soft on Russia — and then run away and hide from the consequences of their stupidity.

Team, I’ll be blunt. Hard-working Americans will pay for this GOP insanity for years to come if Kevin McCarthy and Mitch McConnell regain their majorities in the House and Senate in the fall.
