John —

Last year, each Representative in Congress was given the chance to request funding for up to ten community projects in 2022. Dwight spent months meeting with grassroots organizations, local leaders, community members, workers, and small businesses to determine what projects could help folks around the block.

And last week, President Joe Biden signed the omnibus appropriations bill which includes eight of Dwight's community projects, investing nearly $6.3 million back into our community.

Here are just a few of the projects coming to PA-03:

$1 million for the Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium

The COVID-19 pandemic revealed deep inequities in health care that contributed to higher levels of illness in Black and brown communities.

This funding will establish health equity clinics in our community — especially in North Philadelphia and West Philadelphia. These clinics will help tackle health care inequality in our region and provide primary and preventive health care services to vulnerable communities.

$1 million for improving healthy food access through the Share Food Program

Access to healthy food is a human right, but 21 percent of people in Philadelphia struggle with food insecurity. Dwight is leading efforts to increase fresh food options for underserved neighborhoods.

The Share Food Program is the largest independent food bank in Pennsylvania. This investment will distribute nourishing food to hundreds of partner pantries in southeastern Pennsylvania to tackle food insecurity in our community.

Dwight made it his mission to reach out to as many people as possible to discuss possible projects. It was important to him that our hard-earned dollars were returned directly back to the community, which is why he worked hard to make the selection process inclusive and put the needs of the collective at the center.

Dwight's building a movement powered by community-driven solutions, and it will mean a lot to him to see your name listed as a supporter of these projects. Please sign on in support of these community investments. >> [link removed]
