I don’t need to tell you about rising energy costs, because I know you’re seeing them every day. Gas prices are higher than ever before, and hard-working Americans are feeling the effects every time they head to the pump. 

I’m working to make sure we transition to a clean energy economy and fought to include provisions that will help us do so in the infrastructure package we passed last year, which will create good-paying jobs in Colorado and help us fight climate change. While that work takes time, costs are rising now. 

That’s why I joined several of my colleagues in introducing the Big Oil Windfall Profits Tax, legislation to curb profiteering by large oil companies and provide relief for folks like you.  

Oil giants like Exxon Mobil and Chevron are seeing record profits, while the working families I serve are worried about how they’ll afford their next fill-up.

As gas prices increase, I’m holding large oil and gas companies accountable to prevent them from using this moment to exploit American consumers.

This bill makes sure big oil companies pay their fair share, while protecting American consumers and small businesses.The funds raised would go straight back into your pockets in the form of a rebate every few months. 

It’s imperative that my Senate colleagues cooperate and pass this legislation quickly, because working class families can’t afford to wait. If you’re with me, sign my petition calling on the Senate to pass the Big Oil Windfalls Tax.
