Friends,

I have 15 minutes in my schedule right now. That can feel like a rarity these days, but I’ve always found unscheduled time to be the best time to reflect.

As I sit here and think about how far we’ve come in this campaign, I feel like it’s important for me to share a bit more about why I decided to run for Senate.

My mom raised me in a home steeped with faith, service and love. She taught me that with hard work I could accomplish anything I set my mind to. And my husband Curt and I raised our twin boys right here in North Carolina in a home with these same values.

I know families across this state are teaching their kids these same values — but the truth is, our leaders in Washington have left our families behind. For me, this has always been not just about today or tomorrow — but about the next generation and the world we want for them.

That means we need leaders who will put the people first and who will fight for a better future for all of our families.

So that’s why I’m in this race — one of the most competitive Senate contests anywhere in the nation — to be a voice for you and anyone in our country who is looking for a fair shake and a fair shot.

My moment of free time is almost up, but I need to ask for your help because the truth is that our opponents will stop at nothing to defeat us. They’ve seen me win statewide twice before, so they’re already pouring millions of dollars in dark money into this race.

So if you are ready to fight back and expand our Senate majority, will you please contribute whatever you can to flip this seat? I’ll be a champion for you and your family in the Senate, but I cannot win this race alone.
