We’ll be discussing the progress of several key priorities

that would strengthen LGBTQ legal rights in our state, offering a glimpse into an upcoming advocacy day with our partner Equality New York, and sharing opportunities that can help you grow your skills as an activist.
Together, the RiseOut Action Team has contributed to the passage of 10 LGBTQ-affirming laws, reached tens of thousands of New Yorkers in voter registration and election day drives, and raised awareness of pervasive issues that LGBTQ New Yorkers face. The group is open to seasoned activists and newcomers alike.

Center Statement on anti-LGBTQ and anti-trans bills

The rising wave of anti-LGBTQ and anti-trans attacks across the country—overwhelmingly targeting families and their children—is disturbing and damaging. Let us be very clear: Loving and affirming young people for who they are is not abuse. Awareness about the complexities of sexuality, acknowledging that families come in all forms, and educating young people about gender identity is not dangerous.

Join The Center and the NEW Pride Agenda for a panel discussion about the urgent need for a $15 million statewide investment in trans and gender expansive communities. The Fund would uproot the unequal distribution of funding that's allocated for trans-specific, affirming, and competent services.

The Center's largest annual gala fundraiser, will present the Edie Windsor Trailblazer Award to the Gill Foundation’s Tim Gill and Scott Miller and will recognize Bank of America with our Corporate Impact Award. Actor and singer Alex Newell will perform during the program, and longtime Center community member, NYC legend, and comedian Murray Hill will speak about his personal connections to Center services.
