Hi John -

The Trump administration has formally notified the United Nations that the U.S. is withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement.

We're now the ONLY country that hasn't signed on to the international accord. In plain terms, that means EVERY country in the world has committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and stopping Earth's temperature from rising 2°C... except for the United States.

This decision is devastating, but Trump's decision to walk away from the Paris Climate Agreement isn't happening in a vacuum.

Since he took office, Trump has been systematically eroding the protections and regulations that are designed to keep our air clean, our water drinkable, and our communities safe. He has disregarded the science of climate change in order to protect the profits of his friends in the oil and gas industries.

This is why Ted will fight for a Green New Deal as soon as he is sworn into the Senate. We should be investing in communities, addressing environmental issues in partnership with local leaders, and fighting climate change and environmental injustice.

John, will you add your name to this petition in support of a Green New Deal?

SIGN THE PETITION
After decades of inaction, our nation is in desperate need of a bold, comprehensive strategy to address the cause and impacts of climate change. The Green New Deal is a mechanism to do just that, and bring local communities along in order to transform our economy and save the planet.

We're at just the beginning of this fight John, but with your continued support, we can make a sustainable future a reality - for us, and for everyone who's depending on us, too.

Thanks for taking action,

-- Team Ted
