Dear Judicial Watch Member,

Judicial Watch just announced a major victory for cleaner elections! We settled our federal lawsuit against North Carolina after the state removed over 430,000 ineligible names from its voter rolls!

This is a win for the voters in both North Carolina and across the nation, because clean voter rolls help ensure cleaner elections.

The U.S. Election Assistance Commission released data in June 2019 showing that voter registration rates in a significant proportion of North Carolina’s counties were close to, at or above 100% of their age-eligible citizenry – statistics considered by the courts to be a strong indication that a jurisdiction is not taking the steps required by law to remove ineligible registrants.

On December 11, 2019, Judicial Watch sent notice-of-violation letters to the state and two of its counties, warning them that lawsuits would be filed if timely action were not taken to clean up the voter rolls.

We filed our lawsuit in April 2020, and we argued that North Carolina, Mecklenburg County (Charlotte) and Guilford County (Greensboro) failed to make reasonable efforts to remove ineligible voters as required by the federal National Voter Registration Act (NVRA).

On August 16, 2021, the federal government released data that showed North Carolina removed hundreds of thousands of names from voter rolls – after we sued!

In a settlement, Judicial Watch told the court;

“The total number of inactive registrations reported by North Carolina dropped from about 1.2 million in 2019, to about 765,000 in 2021 (a 36% drop)…Data for Mecklenburg County and Guilford County also showed improvement…In light of Defendants’ substantial increases in removals of ineligible voters since this suit commenced, Plaintiff has determined in good faith that this legal action should not be pursued.”

Because of our federal lawsuit, North Carolina removed hundreds of thousands of ineligible voters (people who have died or moved away).

As I said…this is a win for the voters of North Carolina, and for Judicial Watch!

And I ask for your support with a special tax-deductible contribution today for us to continue our investigations and lawsuits – including ACTIVE federal lawsuits to clean up voter rolls in Colorado and Pennsylvania!

Thanks to the commitment of our supporters, North Carolina follows Judicial Watch voter roll clean-up successes in California, Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana and we are right now prepping lawsuits against other states to force them to clean up their voter rolls! We’re doingthe legal work that the corrupted Justice Department REFUSES to do!

The Biden Justice Department is run by appointees hostile to list maintenance and other election integrity effort…so it is up to Judicial Watch.

We don’t have the deep pockets of government to fund our independent investigations and litigation…instead, we rely on you and other Americans who share our commitment to upholding the rule of law.

Judicial Watch is breaking new ground fighting to keep our elections honest, but none of what we have accomplished would be possible without the financial support we receive from our friends and supporters!

I urge you to join with us today!

Sincerely,

Tom Fitton

President
