Fellow Conservative, the liberal media just can't get enough of Florida.

The latest thing driving them wild is Florida's Parental Rights in Education bill.

You've probably heard us talk about it already—our activists supported the bill as it worked its way through the Florida legislature.

And you’ve probably heard the mainstream media talk about it too - except they’ve been purposely pushing the lies and talking points from Left-wing activist groups (which we’ve already debunked).

Let's be clear about what the bill REALLY does: 

• Ensures grades K-3 are not subject to sexualized instruction. 

• Bolsters parents’ rights to access school health records regarding their children.

• Directs schools to “​​encourage a student to discuss issues relating to his or her well-being with his or her parent.”

It does NOT: 

• Ban the word “gay” or censor private conversations.

Put simply, the bill makes sure curricula remain age appropriate and that PARENTS, who have the primary responsibility for their kid’s education, are not shut out from their children’s lives.

Government bureaucracies are a very poor substitute for loving parents—so it’s important that parents be kept informed of what happens at school.

Heritage Action applauds Florida’s legislators for getting this important legislation across the finish line to protect children and protect parental rights. 

But the Left hates this bill, because it stops them from pushing their radical gender ideology on young children. 

They want to be able to indoctrinate kids at an early age, and they don’t want the policies in this bill to spread to other states. It’s why they lied and lobbied so hard against it.

In 2022, conservative states have been dealing blow after blow to the radical Left-wing agenda. On school curriculum, election integrity, and on pro-life issues.

Heritage Action activists have been doing double duty this year, blocking bad policies at the federal level, while working in the states to advance conservative policies.

And once conservative policies pass in one or two states, they spread to more. It’s a chain reaction.

That’s what we’ve seen with Election Integrity. In 2021, our conservative activists backed big reforms in states like Texas, Florida, and Georgia. Now in 2022, other states are picking up the ball and running with it.

Now that conservatives have won big in Florida with a parental rights bill, other states will look to it as a model for what can be done. This issue is far from over, but now there's some real momentum on our side.

And all of this is building momentum and a policy agenda for conservatives at the federal level too. 

Fellow Conservative, I know the news out of Washington can seem depressing—gridlock, executive overreach, and a Congress controlled by socialists. But the pendulum of power will swing, and when it does, conservatives in Washington will be able to draw on policy victories from the states for their agenda.

I assure you that there has never been a more critical time to support Heritage Action and the conservative grassroots. The victories we’re winning today are building to even more and bigger victories in the future. But only if we put in the effort and do the hard work today…
