In this podcast series, we ask: Why does American Democracy look the way it does today and how can we make it more responsive to the people it was formed to serve?
I’m your host, Simone Leeper, and I’ll speak with experts from across the political spectrum and take a deep dive into the forces fueling our elections, not just in our nation’s capital but at all levels of government.

Some of the expert guests I’ll talk to this season include:
* Shana Broussard, Commissioner and former Chairwoman of the Federal Election Commission.
* Ellen Chaffee, member of the North Dakotans for Public Integrity, a.k.a. the “Badass Grandmas."
* Christina Henderson, Washington, D.C. Councilmember At-Large.
For Episode 1, I’ll be interviewing Trevor Potter, former Chairman of the Federal Election Commission and founder and president of Campaign Legal Center, about the workings of our campaign finance system and his experience explaining this to the American people on The Colbert Report.
We hope you’ll enjoy Episode 1 of our podcast, ([link removed]) and don’t forget to subscribe so you’ll hear each episode as they’re released. Thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
Simone Leeper
