URGENT: For our lives, health and future - Give now

Dear John,

All families who have lost someone to
Alzheimer's disease have stories to share about the person they lost
and still love so much.

Betty Ann was a great cook and a
scratch baker. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was
full of life and full of love. And when she passed away from
Alzheimer's, her family was devastated.

John, the
fight to end Alzheimer's is the fight of our lives. It's extremely
urgent that we do all we can to provide care and support and advance
research that can lead to improved treatments and, one day, a cure.
Please make your best gift right now.

Betty Ann's daughter, Carolyn, and
Carolyn's husband, David, are sharing Betty Ann's story so that all
will know what a remarkable woman she was, and how much she is missed.

The story I'm sharing today could be
from people in your home town or mine who have lost someone close to
them to Alzheimer's. Your strong interest in the work of the
Alzheimer's Association tells me you understand the risks we're facing
and the urgency of doing all we can to help now, because every day
counts. Please turn your compassion into action and honor those you
care about by making your first gift now.

As you can imagine, Carolyn thinks
about her mother every day and how many lives she touched as a school
teacher and as someone who loved doing things for others.

"It was sad when we started
noticing she couldn't make her cakes anymore," Carolyn says.

Our fight today isn't only to honor
those we've lost, but to protect ourselves, our families, our friends
and our neighbors from this dreaded disease, the risk of which
increases dramatically with age. "It touches so many lives,"
Carolyn says. "It scares me."

It's only natural to be concerned
about the threat Alzheimer's can pose to any one of us. The most
important thing is to do all we can to help, and to do it now. Carolyn
and David support the Alzheimer's Association because they believe in
our mission to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia
- by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and
early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.

I'm grateful for your interest. You
understand that the only way to make the future healthier for our
loved ones is by investing in care, support and research today. Will
you please make a gift now?

you, as I have, you know we honor them each time we think of them and
the wonderful times we had with them. We also honor them by giving to
improve health and save lives. Your help is urgently needed, so please
give today.
