Last Friday evening, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals granted Rodney Reed an indefinite stay of execution. This means that Rodney’s November 20 execution date has been cancelled, and he’ll have another chance to prove his innocence.
But Rodney isn’t free yet. The next step is a hearing where new witnesses will testify on behalf of Rodney, and the mounting pieces of new evidence pointing to his innocence will be introduced. This hearing hasn’t been scheduled yet, but we’ll let you know when it takes place and how you can show support.
On behalf of everyone at the Innocence Project, we want to thank you for taking action in support of Rodney and the rest of our innocent clients. Here’s how you can stay involved:
