Paul LePage has a long history of opposing the civil rights of LGBTQ Mainers. He was one of the first governors in the country to veto legislation that would ban conversion therapy.

We already know that Paul LePage has a history of homophobic remarks. But it’s not just about what he’s said. He opposed marriage equality in Maine, signed onto multiple lawsuits opposing LGBTQ civil rights, and is supported by the radical Christian Civic League, who are actively lobbying for Maine Republicans to enact Florida and Texas-style anti-LGBTQ legislation.

Republican control of Maine would put the lives of LGBTQ+ Mainers and their families at risk. We don't need LePage turning Maine into Florida and perpetuating the same kind of dangerous and prejudiced behavior demonstrated by the Republican Governor there.
