As we celebrate Women’s History Month, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the incredible strides women in our nation have made towards gender equality throughout the years – and how much work still needs to be done.

Nearly a century after the ratification of the 19th amendment that finally granted women the right to vote, I and 39 other women were sworn into Congress following the historic 2018 midterm elections. This group of trailblazers made up the largest freshman class of women to be elected to Congress at the time, and I’m honored to have been a part of that history.

But we didn’t do it alone. From the Mill Girls here in Massachusetts to the suffragettes and all the way up to the female leaders of today, millions of brave women have fought fiercely to assert our rights as equal citizens throughout American history.

While we have come a long way from where we started, there is still much work to be done. Despite electing historic numbers of women to the halls of Congress in recent years, including Republicans, women’s rights are in more danger now than they have been in decades.

Last year, the GOP launched an unprecedented assault on reproductive rights. From Texas to Montana, Republicans across the country have enacted laws restricting our right to choose. When I joined the thousands of women who ran for office in 2018, it was largely because of how tired we were of seeing groups of men sitting around making the important decisions that affect every aspect of women’s lives.

There is only one way to prevent the GOP from rolling back the clock on women’s rights: elect more women! Can I count on your support as I fight to build on the gains generations of women worked so hard to make? [[link removed]]
