In a few moments, I'm going to ask if you will please split a contribution between my campaign and Senator Patty Murray's campaign. But first, I want to explain why it's crucial we keep a Democratic champion like Patty fighting for us in the Senate.
A role model for all of us, Patty Murray has been a fierce leader for working families ever since she was elected as the first female senator to represent our great state. And soon, Patty will help make history again when she confirms Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson as the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States.
In the years I've worked alongside our senator, I've gotten to know her as a strong advocate and dedicated public servant. Simply put — Patty Murray gets things done.
But here's the situation, team: Senate Republicans are already trying to stall President Biden's nomination and block important legislation. We can't let petty politics stand in the way of progress, and that's why I need your help today.
With Republicans only ONE seat away from regaining control, we cannot afford to lose a single Senate seat. We need to take every race seriously and defend every Democratic incumbent, including the terrific Patty Murray.
