Have you been following the latest updates from the Instagram account "Dear White Staffers"? The account was created by current congressional staff to inform the public about the daily shenanigans of working on Capitol Hill.

Some of the posts are lighthearted, but others shine a spotlight on the heavy abuse and harassment women and staffers of color experience from their bosses. They've had some, erm, interesting things to say about Representative Brad Sherman.

For some context, Brad Sherman’s former chief of staff, Matt Debabneh, was accused by multiple women of sexual assault and harassment back in 2017. When this news went public, some of Brad’s staffers responded to the fact that none of this was reported to Brad directly by saying “Congressman Sherman showed zero interest in the personal well-being of his staffers and there’s no reason to believe he would have cared or taken any action if a complaint was made,” an ex-staffer told reporters at McClatchy.

We're horrified, John, but we can't say we're surprised.

Brad Sherman was previously rated by an anonymous list of Congressional staffers as the second-meanest member of Congress. His office is plagued with high staff turnover rates and was deemed “too toxic” to report the kind of abuse that his own chief of staff was perpetuating.

We've known for a long time that Brad Sherman is wrong for this district and needs to be replaced. It's time we elect someone who'll really work for the people and put an end to the patriarchal, toxic culture that has pervaded Washington D.C. for too long.
