THE WORD FROM IRELAND - March 17, St. Patrick’s Day, 11:45am

To celebrate St Patrick's day tomorrow, the Irish poet and playwright Damian Gorman gives a live reading from his acclaimed selected poems and memoir "As If I Cared" accompanied by live music, hosted by Ronnie Millar and Laura Tavares. Presented by Rian Immigrant Center and the Brookline Booksmith, this virtual event is free and will be streamed live.

Inspired by the Irish tradition of welcoming the stranger, the Booksmith has created a collection of essential writing about migration from around the world [[link removed]]— powerful voices that open our eyes and deepen our sense of shared humanity. A special community resource, we see the Booksmith is a "caol áit" — in Irish, a "thin place," where earth is close to heaven.
