Russia launched an unprovoked, full-scale attack against Ukraine. And there is nothing “smart, “savvy,” or “genius” about it – no matter what Donald Trump says. We must stand with the people of Ukraine.

For 4 years, my opponent Chuck Grassley applauded as Mr. Trump tore up our treaties and eroded America’s reputation abroad by alienating our allies and capitulating to Vladimir Putin. The result is what we see now.

More than ever, we need people in leadership right now who understand the costs of war. As a retired three-star admiral with over 36 years of service in the U.S. Navy, I would be the most senior military person ever elected to the Senate.

I’m running against Chuck Grassley because I defended democracy around the globe. You can be sure I’ll defend it every day in the United States Senate.

All the polling shows we are in for a nail-biter of a race, and the stakes could not be higher. If we defeat Chuck Grassley and turn Iowa blue, Democrats are guaranteed to hold onto our Senate majority.
