John,
March has been a big month across our nation. We’ve been writing letters and holding rallies to demand that Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson be confirmed, without delay, to the U.S. Supreme Court. While we’re advocating for fair and representative courts, Florida lawmakers are approving problematic bills, including an “elections police force” – the very first in our nation and a chilling reminder that anti-democratic extremism is thriving.
We’re at a turning point in our country, so it’s no surprise that within weeks of seeing the first Black woman nominated to the SCOTUS that extremist Florida lawmakers would approve an outrageous violation of our constitutional right to vote.
Florida’s bill is voter intimidation and, ultimately, voter suppression. That is their goal. This is what you do when you fear voters voting because your ideas and policy proposals are inferior. #VoteThemOut #DefendDemocracy
We have not met our March fundraising goal. We’re close – but we’re not there yet. We still need another $375 to get us over the line and move forward through the rest of the year. The New Pennsylvania Project is funded largely by small-dollar contributions like yours. Will you dig deep and give just $5 right now to move us forward through the rest of the month?
Thank you,
Kadida Kenner
