RPAZ FRONTLINE -- March 16th Wednesday, March 16, 2022 Summit Boosts Election Integrity Initiative Last weekend, I was honored to speak to the Arizona Statewide Election Integrity Summit. Hundreds of Arizonans from across the state gathered to learn about election processes and how we make sure the debacle of 2020 never happens again. Senate President Karen Fann briefed the crowd on the latest from America’s Audit that is still going on here in Arizona. She let us know that she expects the information on the routers and Splunk logs from Maricopa County and the “Special Master,” John Shadegg this week. We had excellent presentations from organizations that led to big wins in Virginia in November 2021. The Virginia election is a model for Election Operations across the country. We heard from our AZGOP 3rd Vice-Chair, Gina Swoboda, on many of the important pieces of election integrity legislation that we must get across the finish line at the legislature. This week, our new Election Integrity Director, Tony Sanchez, officially started his term as part of our Victory Team. Tony worked on the Trump Victory campaign in Arizona where he organized, trained, and mobilized volunteers to get out the vote for President Trump and Republican candidates up and down the ticket Welcome, Tony Sanchez! The Summit was an important step in our efforts to put together our own Election Integrity Army – and WIN – here in Arizona. Watch for information on what you can do to keep our state red. The deadline to get our candidates on the ballot is fast approaching: April 4th. Critical statewide offices including Governor, Attorney General, Treasurer, Superintendent of Public Instruction, Mine Inspector, and two positions on the Corporation Commission are all on the ballot. The great Republican candidates running for these offices, as well as those running for all the others, need and deserve our support. Many of you are aware of the battle going on to protect PC elections. Through some shenanigans at the legislature early this month, a provision was added to allow county chairmen and their committees to select PCs as well as some muddy language that could be interpreted as allowing only one elected PC per precinct. The Republicans in the legislature realized the mistake after being contacted by hundreds of PC and by the AZGOP – and they listened. They have attempted to fix the issue while Democrats revealed that they don’t care a bit about their PCs. A legislative fix was attempted, but they lacked the votes to get an emergency clause enacted which means that the fix wouldn’t take effect until 90 days after the session ends. We are still trying to work out a solution that allows every voter to have the ability to elect who represents them inside the party. We have a strong likelihood of fixing the issue immediately and allowing every voter to have the ability to elect who represents them inside the party. Once again this shows that the power of a united Republican Party with strong leadership from the state and our counties, leads to victory. American families are struggling to afford basic necessities. Workers are seeing their real wages fall. The consumer price index has spiked 7.5 percent since January, 2021. Producer prices have risen 9.7 percent over the past year. And to make matters worse for Americans, last week prices at gasoline pumps across the country have passed $4.00 per gallon and are expected to rise even higher in coming weeks. These are just some of his administration’s accomplishments that Joe Biden neglected to mention in his rambling State of the Union message while Democrats continue to push for trillions more in careless, wasteful spending. Economists have warned the administration that more spending would likely result in higher inflation and make life more challenging for poor and middle-class Americans. Recently, 373 economists signed a letter stating Biden’s economic agenda will negatively impact the federal debt, reduce the number of employed people, and stunt economic growth. The recently released February jobs report confirms that 2.1 million Americans who lost their jobs during the pandemic have yet to get their jobs back. Further, the report says that 47 percent of small businesses have job openings that cannot be filled while there are nearly 11 million job openings that businesses are struggling to fill. The White House explanation? Biden’s Chief of Staff Ron Klain says that Americans disapprove of the declining state of the economy because they haven’t “fully internalized” the progress. Redistricting Comments Precede Final Maps Approval in Coconino County Coconino County voters are asked to submit comments on the county’s new redistricting draft maps at a series of virtual meetings scheduled until Tuesday, March 29. The meetings precede a vote by the county supervisors to finalize redistricting maps planned for Tuesday, April 12.
