John, Kendrick Fulton was released from jail!
Thanks in part to advocacy from over 35,000 Color Of Change members, directly impacted advocates, Families against Mandatory Minimums, the Federal Defender's Office, and more, the Bureau of Prisons released Kendrick from local custody.
John, we are thrilled to see Kendrick return home, but this is only a first step. Kendrick and thousands of individuals on home confinement still face the threat of re-incarceration due to minor and often cruel technical violations, like temporary housing loss in Kendrick’s case, as part of the terms of home confinement.
Until President Biden uses his clemency powers to grant clemency, individuals like Kendrick will continue to live under the looming threat of being reincarcerated during a pandemic.
John, join us in celebrating this incredible victory for Kendrick and his family by demanding President Biden grant him and others clemency so that this never happens again!

John, all those finishing their federal prison sentences on home confinement due to the pandemic were already heavily vetted in order to be released. And they’ve only further proved over the past two years that people will always have a better chance at surviving and thriving when at home and surrounded by community.
Kendrick had spent the past two years at home reconnecting with his children, excelling at work where he even got a promotion, going to church, and being a valuable member of his community. Kendrick even got to spend Christmas with his mother for the first time in almost two decades.
All of his progress was suddenly ripped from him when a housing accommodation issue forced him back to jail - indefinitely. Luckily we were able to advocate for Kendrick’s release, but the mental and physical toll of being sent back to a cage is unthinkable.
The only humane solution is for Biden to grant clemency to all those on home confinement today.
