Russia's invasion of Ukraine shows that America must lead the world in a
clean energy transition. Our dependence on fossil fuel empowers dictators
like Vladimir Putin, foreign petrostates, and price-gouging oil companies.
But transitioning away from oil, gas, and coal is made much harder by
politicians -- including too many Democrats -- who take tens of thousands
of dollars in campaign donations from fossil fuel industries.
Our next Meet the Candidates guest doesn't take any corporate money -- let
alone oil, gas, and coal money. Doyle Canning is a climate champion who
has spent 20 years building movements for strong climate solutions,
working families, racial justice, environmental restoration, and more --
and she’s running for Congress in the open, blue Oregon 4th. You don’t
want to miss this!

For the sake of our national security and our planet, we need leaders who
will take immediate action to invest in clean energy and end our
dependence on fossil fuel.
As a community organizer, attorney, and progressive leader, Doyle has
stood up to Wall Street Banks, big polluters, billionaires, and the
politicians they pay for.
Doyle Canning is a well-known leader and strategist in the national
climate movement. She has shaped climate change strategies around the
world -- from grassroots organizing in Oregon, to influencing agendas at
the global climate talks, to supporting groundbreaking litigation and
fiercely advocating for climate justice in Congress.
During this Congress alone, Doyle has advocated for critical climate
investments in President Biden’s Build Back Better agenda, advised
Greenpeace on strategies to end Congressional giveaways to the fossil fuel
industry, and to hold the line for "No Climate, No Deal."
Now, Doyle Canning is running for Congress to fight for environmental and
climate justice, health care, and expanding collective bargaining and
workers rights.
This open seat in a blue district is a chance for progressives to
strengthen the ranks of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and build
more power in Congress -- so corporate petro-Democrats like Joe Manchin
can't veto Democratic priorities.
