John,
Ectopic pregnancies are universally considered nonviable pregnancies. [1] Beyond that, ectopic pregnancies are the leading cause of first-trimester maternal deaths. [2]
That hasn’t stopped ‘pro-lifers’ from trying to use them in abortion bans. Give now to hold the anti-abortion movement accountable.
Most recently, a bill in Missouri would make it illegal to get an abortion if the patient has an ectopic pregnancy – a crucial and life-saving treatment. [3]
This is the exact anti-science, hateful anti-abortion thinking we have been working to expose and fight against with our #BadFaithMedicine campaign. As they continue to push ideologically motivated ‘counseling,’ unethical and unproven ‘abortion pill reversal,’ and other anti-abortion threats to health and safety, we are working to ensure everyone has access to compassionate, comprehensive health care.
Give to show you agree.
Even if these alarming bills do not pass, they create confusion that can prevent someone from getting the urgent care they need. They also spread misinformation and stigma, sometimes allowing less-outrageous seeming but still harmful anti-abortion bills to become law.
Now is the time to stand up and say no.
Sincerely,
Erin Matson
Executive Director, Reproaction
P.S. At this point it is abundantly clear: They don’t care if people die as a result of their dangerous, ‘pro-life’ ideology. They must be stopped.
