Poll: Public Wants More Support for Ukraine

A Pew Research poll shows a plurality of Americans say the U.S. is not providing Ukraine with enough support.  Democrats are spit on the issue (Pew Research).  So this makes a Biden decision much easier, as he plans to announce more aid to Ukraine (Fox News). Meanwhile, Fox News lost two co-workers in Ukraine (Fox News).

San Francisco Now Boycotting 28 States

Because those states aren’t woke enough for the leadership of San Fran, which demands you support all abortion and transgender ideologies (WSJ). From Byron York: San Francisco is now boycotting most of the United States (Twitter).

Senate Votes Yes to Resolution Overturning Travel Mask Mandates

Mostly Republicans, although Romney voted “no.” The story notes “the resolution is likely to hit a wall in the House. It would also need to overcome a likely veto by President Biden” (The Hill). From Senator Tom Cotton: The Senate voted to revoke Biden’s travel mask mandate. While Biden rarely wears a mask unless he’s alone outside, he is forcing two-year-olds to wear masks on planes. It’s time for the House to schedule a vote. End the madness (Twitter).

California Governor Resists Call to Suspend Gas Tax

Governor Gavin Newsom claims removing the tax that disproportionately hits the poor would somehow help oil companies (Daily Wire). From California State Controller candidate Lanhee Chen: “The Sacramento politicians don’t want to give California drivers the relief they desperately need from soaring gas prices. So, here’s an idea: they should at least give us transparency into how much we are paying in gas taxes. Every Californian should see, at the pump, how much in state taxes, fees, and surcharges we are paying for each gallon of gas. We can easily see how much in taxes we pay on pretty much everything else we buy. With gas prices near $6.00 a gallon, Californians deserve to understand how much of that is going to Sacramento” (Chen for California).

Senate Passes Bill to Make Daylight Savings Time Permanent

From the story: The measure, written by Democratic Sen. Edward Markey of Massachusetts and Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, passed the chamber unanimously. If passed and signed by President Biden, the bill would end the twice-a-year ritual of changing clocks that most Americans undertake in spring and fall (Washington Times).  A look at how it was tried in 1974 and people complained (Washingtonian).

Police Arrest, Interrogate Russian TV Editor Who Protested War Live On Air

She could face 15 years in prison. An update on the story: A Russian state television employee who stormed a live broadcast on Monday was interrogated by the police for 14 hours and fined by a Moscow court on Tuesday. “I spent two days without sleep,” the woman, Marina Ovsyannikova, said in a video recorded outside of the courtroom on Tuesday by Mediazona, an online news site. “I wasn’t allowed to contact my relatives or people close to me,” Ms. Ovsyannikova said, adding that she was not allowed “access to any legal representation, so I was in a fairly difficult position.”
