I made a very tough call a few weeks ago.

It was during a meeting where it became evident that with Republican spending ramping up soon and Ron Johnson already running his own TV ads, we would need to fight back earlier than expected.

So I saw an opportunity to make a big investment that would pay off long-term, and we launched our first TV ads in Wisconsin. The money wasn’t in the budget, but I approved the plan anyway.

It’s a risky decision. But we have to get Sarah’s message in front of as many voters as possible if we want to defeat Ron Johnson and flip this Senate seat. I felt good about making this decision because I knew that if we asked, you’d come through and help fill the budget hole to help us win this race.

I’m really hoping you will — for Sarah, for the team, and for those who deserve better leadership than they’re getting from Ron Johnson in the U.S. Senate.

Can you make a $3 contribution before our first FEC fundraising deadline of the year to help us close the budget gap we created by going up on TV? I’m counting on our best supporters (that’s you!) to keep our first ad on the air.
