It wasn’t easy for me to break into law, team. In fact, it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. But all the work and effort I put into law has inspired me to work to make the justice system more equitable for everyone. If you’re with me in this fight for fairness under the law, chip in now to my campaign for Congress. >> [[link removed]]
When I left Harvard Law School, I took the challenge of practicing securities law in New York. Unlike other areas of law like family or criminal law, the world of securities is constantly changing. My legal strategies had to be flexible as I adapted to ever-changing laws and regulations.
I like to think that learning this flexibility prepared me for a career in Congress.
I left New York to come back to Alabama, where I established myself as one of just a few Black public finance lawyers in the entire state.
I represented some of Alabama’s greatest institutions, including the City of Selma and Alabama State. My work made all the difference to small municipalities that needed someone to fight for them. It inspired me to run for Congress, so that Alabama would have just laws that work for everyone.
Now, we’re facing one of the toughest election years in history, and the laws of the land are at stake. I’m working every day to ensure that we have laws that are fair and just to everyone. I need your support to keep going. Will you chip in anything you can right now to my campaign for Congress so I can keep working for justice? [[link removed]]
