Team,

Ok. Don’t tell Derek that I got access to his computer (I admit it’s hard for me to type with paws).

I’m writing (pawing?) to ask you to support his re-election effort. Why?

Well, in addition to giving me a loving home, Derek works so hard for the people he represents. I’ve seen it with my own eyes (which are really adorable). I’ve seen how much he cares about people. I’ve seen him help senior citizens so they can get Social Security. I’ve seen him help veterans get the benefits they’ve earned. I’ve even seen him protect me from the somewhat aggressive German Shepherd in our neighborhood.

While I miss him when he’s in D.C., I know that he’s working hard for all of us — even us Aussies — when he’s there.

But here's the thing, I overheard Derek talking about something called an "end-of-quarter deadline" and it sounds very important. I guess his campaign is trying to raise $20,000 (which is a lot of bones) before March ends, and tomorrow is the halfway point.

I know how much he would appreciate it if you helped his campaign — will you pitch in before tomorrow at midnight to help Derek keep fighting for us?
