BAKER | Once you factor in other forms of earnings (such as health insurance, retirement account contributions, bonuses, and self-employment income), men actually earn 75 percent more than women—meaning that women on average earn only 57 cents on a man’s dollar. If Equal Pay Day was based on a more comprehensive measure of the earnings gap, the day would fall much later in the year—more like October.

‘Artists 4 ERA’ Demand Equal Rights for All Americans: ‘It Is Overdue That Gender Equality Becomes the Law of the Land’ [[link removed]]
BY SHEILA WICKOUSKI | On International Women’s Day, VoteEquality launched the Artists 4 ERA initiative. In partnership with 28 prominent artists, including Shepard Fairey, Artists 4 ERA will be releasing limited edition, signed prints to benefit non-partisan, grassroots efforts for the Equal Rights Amendment. The full collection of artwork will make its debut at the launch event March 19 in Oakland, Calif. From there, the collection will tour the country at events organized by VoteEquality, partner organizations and artists advocating for gender equality.
“As gender rights are rolled back across the country and as the Supreme Court signals its willingness to forgo precedent, a new generation of activists is stepping up to the fight,” said Kati Hornung, executive director of VoteEquality. “Art as a form of expression has a unique way of motivating people.”

Hangover Remedy: Passage of a Permanent Repeal of the Global Gag Rule Is the Cure [[link removed]]
BY REBECCA DENNIS | It’s been a year since the Biden administration announced the rescission of the global gag rule, but a nasty hangover of its harmful effects remains. The stroke of a pen does not undo the harm of a policy designed to deny access to comprehensive reproductive health services.
The only way to ensure we, as a global community, don’t end up in this situation again is for Congress to take action to permanently bring an end to the global gag rule and pass the bipartisan Global Health, Empowerment and Rights (Global HER) Act.
