Our Power, Our Vote, Our City: Gamaliel in Memphis and Beyond
Over the years, Gamaliel affiliate MICAH (Memphis Interfaith Coalition for Action and Hope) has made the case for addressing the outsized control and impact exercised by the county's District Attorney. With that office on the ballot in the upcoming election, now is the time to engage voters in a conversation about the power of the prosecutor.
Gamaliel leaders, organizers, and friends will travel to Memphis for a weekend of Integrated Voter Engagement (IVE) training and action in late April. This is an important opportunity for Gamaliel to show up as a Network and provide powerful support to MICAH in their fight for a just legal system in Shelby County and robust turnout in the upcoming primary and general elections.
While participation in this event is limited to Gamaliel leaders and organizers, anyone can show their support by investing in our work at gamaliel.org/ourpower-ourvote-memphis [[link removed]] .

Transformational Justice: March Campaign Meeting
Join the Transformational Justice Steering Team and TJ leaders from across the Gamaliel Network for our next campaign meeting on Friday, March 18, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. CT (3:00 p.m. ET/12:00 p.m. PT). Our focus will be on countering dominant narratives that limit what people believe is possible with transformational narratives and messaging. Come prepared to reflect on the dominant narrative that your local or state campaign is up against.
Register in advance for this meeting. [[link removed]] After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

In 1986, Gamaliel was founded with the same mission we follow today: to train everyday people to participate in the social, political and environmental decisions that affect their lives. As we celebrate our 35th anniversary throughout 2022, we're excited to look back on all the ways we've grown since '86 — and all the ways we plan to keep growing as we move toward our 50th anniversary in 2036.

Gamaliel is grateful for the funding we've received from Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD), which has allowed us to form two cohorts of new organizers drawn from across the Network. Thanks to CCHD's generosity, we will convene a third cohort in the coming year.
This video from David Goodner, an organizer with Quad Cities Interfaith, is just one small way we're saying thank you to CCHD and supporting them in their upcoming annual collection.
