The Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program (MIECHV) is the largest federal investment in voluntary home visiting, delivering evidence-based services that strengthen the parent-child relationship and connect families to vital community resources to support long-term healthy development and well-being.

The MIECHV authorization expires in September 2022. Advocates need to begin educating Members of Congress now about the importance of home visiting and MIECHV funding.

Key priorities for MIECHV reauthorization are:
-
Increase funding by $200 million each year over five years, to reach more families and better support the workforce
-
Double the Tribal set-aside
-
Continue to allow virtual home visiting with model fidelity as an option
