There’s an energy crisis in America, and it’s entirely President Biden’s own making. He recently tried to blame Russia for the crisis, but this problem began long before Russia invaded Ukraine.
It started on Day One of Biden’s presidency, when he cancelled the Keystone XL pipeline, and shut down drilling permits. Now instead of unleashing American oil companies to produce and transport desperately needed fuel, the president is considering buying oil from Venezuela and Iran!
We need to bring back American energy independence. It’s not just a few extra bucks at the pump — the cost of fuel affects almost every part of our day-to-day lives. The price of every single thing is about to go up even higher, at a time when inflation is already at record highs.
When it costs more to grow the food we eat and transport it to the stores we shop in, prices are going to go up. When the cost to build our homes and manufacture everyday goods goes up, prices are going to go up.
Joe Biden needs to stop trying to lay the blame at every doorstep but his own and take some responsibility. And then he needs to unleash American energy companies to do what they do best — produce the oil and gas that our country runs on.
