My Sisters and Brothers,
Today, Equal Pay Day, represents how far into the year women must work to earn what men earned in 2020. Women are paid $0.83 for every $1.00 men make, and the pay disparity for African American, Latina, and Native American women is even greater. African American women make just 63% of what the average White man gets paid.
Join me in urging the Senate to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act now!
The Pink Collar Recession is not over – over 1 million women left their jobs during the pandemic, and compounded by a desperate need for childcare, we have far to go. We must close the gender and racial pay gaps to achieve true paycheck fairness in our nation. Let’s start by sending the Paycheck Fairness Act to President Biden’s desk! |
Thank you for joining me in this mission for equal pay for all. Together, #WeRepresent Gwen Moore |
