All of us here on Team Shannon are so proud to have the support of SEIU Local 888. They do incredible work to advocate for their members and ensure those who work in education, in municipal government, and state government have a seat at the table and can effectively organize for good working conditions, fair pay, and dignity in the workplace.
Their amazing members have been on the frontlines of this pandemic, caring for our veterans, taking care of seniors and ensuring that critical government services continue to function at such a difficult time.
Especially after the past two years, we owe so much gratitude to our public service workers who have done everything they can to keep things running for people across Massachusetts, despite the enormous challenges we’ve all faced amid a global pandemic.
John, the history of labor organizing in Massachusetts goes deep. Despite all of the enormous gains made by the labor movement in the past year, there are efforts in our state to chip away at workers’ rights.
