John,
We wouldn’t ask unless we needed to, but our finance team took a look at our March fundraising numbers, and we’re $15,000 behind where we need to be by midnight tonight.
Unlike the establishment, we don’t believe in alarmist email fundraising tactics. At the same time, heading into peak primary season, and with one JD election after another, we can’t afford to be so far behind our fundraising goals.
We won’t be able to fully close the gap by midnight, but if we have a strong few days of fundraising, we can reverse this trend and ensure we are on track to hit our goals the rest of the month. Justice Democrats relies on grassroots supporters giving $1, $3, or $5 at a time in order to fully fund the communications, organizing, and field programs needed to fundamentally transform the Democratic party.
The DCCC raises money from Wall Street and corporate PACs to recruit corporate candidates, protect incumbents, and maintain the status quo — but 100% of what we raise goes towards electing working-class candidates who will join Justice Democrats in Congress in fighting for progressive change.
The establishment has proven that even with the majority, they won’t fight for our values. If we want to cancel student loan debt, pass Medicare for All, and win a Green New Deal, we’re going to have to expand our coalition in Congress.
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
