Colorado is considered a safe state by a lot of Democrats -- but this year is different. That could set the stage for a dangerous situation in 2024.
As the Colorado Secretary of State, it’s my responsibility to ensure we have free and fair elections. But an ultra-right wing election denier and conspiracy theorist is now running against me. Because she has been a staunch proponent of the Big Lie, there is speculation that Trump will give his endorsement any day.
Trump has already gotten involved in Secretary of State races in Arizona, Michigan, and Georgia. All states he lost in 2020. He’s hoping to help Big Lie candidates win so they won’t stand in his way the next time he attempts to overthrow the will of the voters.
My job as Secretary of State is to ensure that every eligible Coloradan -- Republican, Independent and Democrat, alike -- has their voice heard in accessible and secure elections.
I know what’s at stake this year -- and I need your support.
