I'll cut right to the chase and keep this short: we just got word that Governor Mike DeWine has signed a bill into law that will undoubtedly make our state less safe. He has officially signed the permitless concealed carry legislation.

This bill removes permitting, training, and background check requirements to carry a concealed weapon for anyone over the age of 21. It is strongly opposed by law endorsement, local leaders, and victims of gun violence.

This is the same Governor who in 2020 signed the “stand your ground” bill even with fierce and vocal opposition from police officers and the public.

This type of legislation should have never ended up on the Governor's desk. It only does so because of the Republican supermajority in our General Assembly.
