Hi team – this will be a long email and at the end of it, I’m going to ask you to help us hit our critical November fundraising goal. [[link removed]]

But first, I’d love to share why.

There’s a lot of activity in Washington these days and it can be hard to stay up to date with what we are working on in Congress.

That’s why I wanted to reach out to my top supporters, like you, to fill you in.

The people of Kansas’ 3rd District sent me to Congress to address the issues that matter most to our families and communities; the real-life, kitchen table problems that keep us up at night.

That’s exactly what I’ve been focused on.

- Far too many Kansans have gone to the pharmacy counter to fill a prescription and had their heart sink at the price. Big Pharma is profiting off consumers, and that’s unacceptable. That’s why I’m co-sponsoring the Lower Drug Costs Now Act, which would lower drug prices for all Americans. I won’t stop fighting until we pass this crucial legislation.

- I was so proud to preside over the House as we passed the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act, an important piece of legislation that strengthens support for programs that provide resources and safety to survivors of sexual and domestic violence. Yet, Senate Republicans refuse to even bring it to a vote. I, along with my Democratic colleagues, will continue to demand Senate Republicans enact VAWA and protect survivors.

- Last week, we took Veterans Day as an opportunity to reflect on how we can better support and provide for our vets and their families who have sacrificed so much for us all. A few days later, the House passed my bill, the Successful Entrepreneurship for Reservists and Veterans (SERV) Act. This bipartisan legislation will go a long way in supporting veteran business owners and connecting veterans with small business programs to help them succeed.

My job is to keep making advances on important issues like these (and so many more!) – but I can’t do that without your support.

We’re behind on our November fundraising goal and we need to raise $7,000 by Wednesday at midnight to put ourselves back on track. Can I count on you to chip in what you can to help us make up some ground?

Our Democratic House has made great strides this year, but we still have a long way to go. We simply couldn’t do it without the grassroots support of folks like you.

If you can, would you consider making a contribution of any amount to help our campaign keep fighting? Every dollar goes a long way.

It means so much to have you standing shoulder to shoulder with me as we work together for a better tomorrow.

Thank you,

Sharice
