I’m a proud member of the Congressional Oversight Committee. In fact, I’m
so passionate about oversight that my license plate says ‘OVRSITE.’

The Oversight Committee has the responsibility to ensure your tax dollars
are spent efficiently and effectively, but my experience with oversight
started long before coming to Washington. I was a student of Elizabeth
Warren’s while in law school, and then went on to become a consumer
protection attorney.

In 2012, then California Attorney General Kamala Harris appointed me to be
California’s watchdog against the banks. The Big Banks had promised to pay
billions of dollars to the homeowners they cheated, and my job was to make
sure the banks followed through.

My team and I held the Big Banks accountable, securing $18 billion for
California families.

Now in Congress I’m proud to be standing up against Big Pharma, Big Oil,
and Big Insurance companies that are raising costs on American families.
And that’s why I never have and never will take a dime of corporate PAC
money.
