Peace Talks Paused
Negotiators from Russia and Ukraine met again on Monday for another round of talks which ended in a “technical pause” which will resume on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Russian forces broadened their devastating offensive and the Kremlin insisted that it would not pull back until “all plans” for the invasion are fulfilled, as the NYT reports. |
Russia Warns Western Companies
Russian prosecutors have issued warnings to Western companies in Russia, threatening to arrest corporate leaders there who criticize the government or to seize assets of companies that withdraw from the country, as the WSJ reports. |
China and Russia Deny Allegations Russia Asked Beijing for Military Equipment
China accused the United States Monday of spreading “fake news” about its role in the Ukraine crisis, after U.S. officials said the Kremlin had requested military equipment and aid from Beijing, as the Washington Post reports. |

Just days ago, a milestone occurred in the rock world—Keith Richards and the X-Pensive Winos reunited on stage for the first time in 30 years to perform during the Love Rocks NYC benefit. Richards and the original Winos—Waddy Wachtel on guitar, Ivan Neville on keyboards, and Steve Jordan on drums—were joined by Late Show with David Letterman bassist Will Lee.
The band performed a blistering version of “999” off their 1992 album Main Offender, which will be re-released later this month as a box set. If I could see any band perform live right now, Richards and the X-Pensive Winos would be the one. I’m hoping for a reunion tour! |
