Look, we always want to be honest with you, John. So the truth is that our fundraising has been slower than we expected so far this month, and I don’t want to have to cut our goals or budget right now.
We’re nearly halfway through the month, but we’ve only raised about a third of what we need to reach our goal before the official FEC deadline on March 31.
This is a critical goal for us to hit too. After this deadline, we will be required to report our fundraising numbers publicly — the first full quarter since Cheri became Democrats’ presumptive nominee in North Carolina.
That puts all eyes on us, so we cannot miss. But the only way we can get there is if we can quickly get a surge of support to put us back on track.
