Dear John,

Last week on International Women’s Day, many of us reflected on the horrors facing our sisters in Ukraine. Around the world and here at home, democracy is under intense strain. As domestic funders, we at the Ms. Foundation know that women and girls of color are critical to a future that includes a healthy democracy in the United States.

From the California Latinas for Reproductive Justice to the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition to Girls for a Change in Virginia, hundreds of vibrant organizations and leaders, and tens of thousands of activists, democracy is being reclaimed one grassroots action at a time.

It takes significant funding to amplify these actions.

So please, in honor of Women’s History Month, be a part of this groundswell of activity.

The future is feminist—and a stronger democracy will be our legacy.
