John,
For us, Pi Day (3/14) means pie, and that means pie charts. So we thought we’d take this opportunity to show you one of 2021’s worst Republican gerrymanders in pie chart form – then ask you to contribute $20 or whatever you can toward our mid-month goal.
In Ohio, a state where Republicans have won just over half of the vote in recent elections, Republicans had the gall to draw a congressional map that would have given a whopping 80% of seats to the GOP!
|
Here’s the good news – that map was struck down by the state Supreme Court. State Supreme Courts also ruled in favor of fair redistricting in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and North Carolina.
But the bad news is that Republicans frustrated with state Supreme Courts are conspiring to stack those courts to get the redistricting outcomes they want!
The bottom line here is that our work to demand fair redistricting is far from over. That’s why we’re asking you to make a Pi Day gift to the NDRC. Will you chip in $20 or whatever you can to support the fight for fair maps across the country?
